Another Weekend in the Books

Even though R is home for 3 days, the weekends seem to go by so fast. Friday I took Bella to the Pediatric GI Specialist for a check-up with the nurse practitioner. It was a basically useless appointment. The nurses took measurements, but the nurse practitioner deferred to my regular pediatrician regarding questions about starting Bella on solids and concerns about her having severe food allergies like R. Her length was the same as her previous visit, but she’s up to 15 pounds and 14 ounces (about 1.5 pounds more in a month). We ordered in some food on Friday night and just watched TV.

Saturday S came to visit. She got here about 9:30 and stayed until almost 2:30. Bella was really good while she was here and we had a nice visit, including a trip to walk around the lake at Falls park and a brief stop at my folk’s new house. I’ll be seeing S in 4 weeks when we do the MS Walk together. If the weather is nice, I’ll be bringing Bella along with me, hopefully it’ll be a nice day.

Last night we went over my folks for a corned beef dinner and to see my brother. He was sick and left right after dinner, we left shortly thereafter as Bella started getting fussy. After nearly 6 months, she’s finally gotten to a point where we can start getting her to bed at a regular time (8pm).

Today has been a lazy day. I finally ran to the grocery store to stock up the fridge a bit. When I got home it was time to feed Bella and put her down for a nap. I was able to nap for about an hour, I still feel exhausted. I had wanted to take Bella back to the park for a walk again today, but I just don’t have the energy.

On a positive note, after those two bad days last week, my head has been pretty good. I’ve had a few headaches, but nothing I couldn’t treat with ibuprofen. If possible, I want to try to stay at the lower dosage of verapamil, in case I need to increase it later to improve its effectiveness.

The coming week is going to be quiet for me. Mom wants to go to Kohls and use a 30% coupon she has, but other than that there are no doctor appointments or other things on our schedule.

FYI – I was easily able to fix my brother’s computer yesterday, it only took about 20 minutes to perform a system restore and remove a couple suspect applications from his hard drive.
